LONG BEACH, Calif., Apr. 2, 2014— RUSH X, an annual Experience and Expo for Tesla users, owners and enthusiasts expects to draw the world’s largest gathering of Tesla electric cars to this seaside city on Aug. 8-10, 2014. Produced independently from Tesla Motors, Inc., the event will feature global experts, industry trend panels, record-breaking opportunities, Tesla owner time-trials, hands-on workshops, and surprise entertainment offerings.
“First and foremost, we are fans. The overriding goal of the event is to celebrate this exceptional car, in addition to giving Tesla owners the how-to’s and face-to-face info-sharing they crave,” said event producer and volunteer organizer, Renee Swenson. “We encourage all Tesla fans to attend—from early Tesla adopters to those who want to become Tesla owners—there will be something for everyone. We will be offering general-interest topics, including presentations on climate change, EV-charging basics, and workshops on vehicle modification.”
RUSH X is named for the exhilaration or rush that enthusiasts experience when stepping on a Tesla accelerator. The producers expect over 1,000 Tesla drivers and enthusiasts from around the world to register for RUSH X for an array of indoor and outdoor activities at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, site of the renowned Long Beach Grand Prix.
Tesla Motors founder Elon Musk and other key influencers have been invited to speak at RUSH X. Workshops and intimate discussion groups will delve into topics such as investing in Tesla stock, charging with solar electricity, and using Tesla apps. Surprise guest-appearances and more will take place in and outside the 45,000-square-foot Long Beach arena.
Planned outdoor activities include Guinness World Record breaking attempts and professional stunt-driving exhibitions. RUSH X will also serve as the launching point for Tony Williams’ annual event, the BC2BC-2014 All Electric Vehicle Rally, a 1,500 mile drive from Baja California to British Columbia. Some 50 exhibitors will showcase Tesla after-market products and services, as well as electric motorcycles, bicycles and off-road vehicles.
“The heart of the Tesla community is the user and enthusiast—they’re similar to Apple and Harley Davidson fans. They can’t get enough information about the company or the car,” said Swenson, a Tesla owner since 2006 and professional event planner for Fortune 500 companies. “RUSH X will provide an opportunity for attendees to hear from and speak with industry leaders and experts, network with fellow Teslaficinados, and share their passion and knowledge with those new to electric transportation. It’s the ultimate user experience.”
Attendance will be limited. For more information and registration details, visit RUSHX.org.
